Rambo and John McClane Coming to Call of Duty

In an exciting announcement on the Call of Duty blog, John McClane and Rambo are being added to Call of Duty titles like Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty: Mobile as Operators.

The ‘80s Action Heroes event and related content will go live on May 19 at 9 p.m. (PT) following updates to both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. For Call of Duty: Mobile players, the ‘80s Action Heroes event begins on May 20 at 5 p.m. (PT).

Both John McClane and Rambo will be featured in a limited-time Multiplayer Mode called Guns Blazing, and will pop up in the Store.

Details about the items included in each bundle – Rambo, John McClane – were provided in the Call of Duty blog post.

Rambo (Launch)

“To survive a war, you gotta become war.”

Serving time for murder, highly decorated MACV-SOG soldier John Rambo is offered one more mission – return to Vietnam and locate American POWs. If successful, he will be released, and given a full Presidential pardon…

This Operator will be available via the “Rambo” bundle in the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Store from May 19 at 9PM PT to June 18 at 9PM PT.

This bundle includes the Legendary Operator; two Finishing Moves, including one using his signature bow and arrow; three Legendary Weapon Blueprints—an assault rifle, an LMG and a Knife Blueprint; a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem; and an Epic Watch and Charm.

John McClane (Launch)

“Welcome to the party, pal!”

A hard-bitten cop on the streets of New York, John McClane has a talent for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now in the fight of his life, he’ll have to rely on his cocky attitude and level head to stay alive.

John McClane will be available via the “Die Hard” bundle in the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Store from May 19 at 9PM PT to June 18 at 9PM PT.

This bundle includes the Legendary Operator, a Finishing Move, three Legendary Weapon Blueprints—one tactical rifle, one SMG, and one assault rifle—a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem, an Epic Watch, and an Epic Weapon Charm.

Note: Rambo and John McClane are brand-new Call of Duty Operators; these are not skins for previously released Operators.”

There’s a lot more content coming to Call of Duty outside of just John McClane and Rambo, though a lot of it ties back to these 80s icons. The Call of Duty blog post is extensive when it comes to sharing new content that players can look forward to.

For example, it goes over new points of interest including Nakatomi Plaza in reference to Die Hard and Survival Camps in reference to Rambo: First Blood Part II.

A limited-time Battle Royale style mode called Power Grab is also being introduced that plays… well, exactly as you’d expect from a Battle Royale mode.

“In Power Grab, Operators will find that the starting circle collapse is smaller than in a traditional Battle Royale in Verdansk. This circle collapse will have five stages and there is no Gulag to escape from upon death.”

Additionally, a new Killstreak is being added in the form of the Combat Bow, and the Ballistic Knife is being added to Black Ops Cold War. For things like Medals, there will be limited-time Medals in reference to Die Hard and Rambo.

In a nutshell, you can look forward to not only Rambo and John McClane as Operators, but also weapons, maps, modes, and more – all in reference to Die Hard and Rambo – to be added to Call of Duty.

Again, these two iconic 80s action heroes will be available in Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty: Mobile.
