2018’s God of War Supports Save File Transfers From PS4 to PS5

Companies like Santa Monica Studios have been sharing updates and information regarding the ways in which you can enjoy PS4 games on PS5. Heralded as one of the best games of 2018, God of War is a must-play experience whether you’re playing on PS4 or PS5.

If you started playing God of War on PS4 and want to continue playing on PS5 but are worried about having to start over again from the beginning, Santa Monica Studios has some good news for you. First, God of War will support save transfers from PS4 to PS5.

With this, you’ll be able to pick back up right where you left off, no need to start all over again. God of War will also support up to 60 FPS on PS5 through a ‘Favor Performance” video option. Santa Monica Studios had good news for God of War III Remastered fans as this game will also support save transfers from PS4 to PS5

If you missed the trailer, Santa Monica Studios is working on a brand new God of War game for PS5 called God of War: Ragnarok which is scheduled to release sometime in 2021.

Want to contribute your talents to Santa Monica Studios? They’re currently hiring for a number of positions such as lead writer, combat designer, gameplay programmer, and environment artist to name just a few.

For the full list of openings at Santa Monica Studios, be sure to check out the ‘Careers’ page on their website. Who knows, you may be able to contribute to games like the aforementioned God of War: Ragnarok.

Overall, it’s not surprising to hear that you’ll be able to transfer your save files from 2018’s God of War on PS4 to PS5 and that the game will support 60 FPS. Although, we are somewhat surprised to hear the same can be said for God of War III Remastered when it comes to save files.

The PS5 is scheduled to release on November 12 and will have a number of launch titles to enjoy including Demon’s Souls and Spider-Man Miles Morales. While you’re digging into these games, it’s nice to know you can continue progressing through God of War without having to go back to your PS4 to access your save file.
