LEGO is seriously pulling on those nostalgic heartstrings with their latest video showing off the LEGO NES with a release date and a price tag. The new set looks beyond incredible and does a phenomenal job at exceeding expectations but not everybody is thrilled with the hefty price tag attached to the newest item on the shelf.

The LEGO NES set arrives on August 1st and comes with a console to assemble, a retro-inspired TV, and an 8-bit Mario that can do his traditional moves. It looks amazing but the full set is going to cost you, coming in at $229.99. While some felt this was a fair price point, others were pretty vocal about their concerns.

Others were quick to point out that this price is actually pretty on-par with previous LEGO sets. Our very own Chris Higgins also mentioned that “it’s actually one of the cheaper LEGO licensed sets. 2.6k bricks with moving mechanisms are under the $1:10 ratio of most sets.”

Whether you agree with the price point or not, the highly nostalgic new LEGO NES set arrives on August 1st and can be ordered through the official LEGO website right here. You can also catch up on the latest news with some of our other coverage pieces below:
