Reports of a Sleeping Dogs movie first were made public back in 2017 with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star Donnie Yen confirming his role back in 2018. Since then, however, news has been mum, but it looks like the film adaptation is ready to rock and role because the actor has just teased that the Sleeping Dogs movie is ready to begin production.
Yen took to his Weibo account to talk with his fans, saying that he is excited to start filming “his next challenge.” While he didn’t list the Sleeping Dogs movie specifically, he did tag it, which ignited fans of the franchise to see any sort of progress being made.
Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad took to Twitter with a translation of the original Chinese post, pointing out the tags when the actor brought up what’s next on the horizon for him.
