However, players will have to make sure to install Halo 2 Anniversary on their computer before they are able to experience all of the action and excitement that the game has to offer. Now, players who bought the game separately will be able to download it from either Steam or the Microsoft Store immediately after they have purchased it. However, those who own the Master Chief Collection will have to go into the game to be able to install Halo 2 Anniversary on their PC. 

You will need first need to make sure that the Master Chief Collection is updated to gain access to the second entry in the fan-favorite first-person shooter franchise. Once the Master Chief Collection has been updated through Steam or the Microsoft Store, launch it and make your way to the options and career section. 

Choose the settings option and then click on the gameplay option. Players can then click on the option to change installed files. Click the two boxes for the campaign and multiplayer of the Halo 2 Anniversary game. Once the campaign and multiplayer boxes for the game have been checked, click the accept selection button right underneath the games. You will then see your PC begin to install the game. Now, you will just have to wait until the installation has completed, and then you will be able to jump into and enjoy the adrenaline-fueled action of this particular game.
