When we talk about Legendary artifacts, a common one that Borderlands 3 players are drawn to is the Elemental Projector. It’s great for its quantity-heavy approach to bonuses – essentially, you get to pick from a list of cool traits that make you more deadly in battle including ones that affect your movement speed, fight for your life duration, and even weapon-type specific damage. If you’re wanting to know how to get that particular artifact, we’ve actually got a whole guide on just that and we’ve relinked it here for your convenience

Now, on to what you’re actually here for. Some advice on what the Borderlands 3 Pearl of Knowledge is and how you can pick it up. Well, you’re in luck. The Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge is, as you might have guessed, a Legendary artifact. This Pearl isn’t really shaped like one, but hey, we’re not going to judge the artisans who help make things that turn is into deadly killers. So, the Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge’s special effect is called “KNowing is half the battle” and how it works is that consecutive hits on a target grant a 1% damage bonus per hit for up to 15 stacks. At maximum stacks, there’s an extra 20% damage bonus. This means that as long as you’re channeling bullets into a thing and have hand-eye coordination, you can benefit from a 35% bonus to your damage.

The Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge is also great because it grants you three of the following bonuses when you roll it:

  • Fire rate
  • Health regeneration
  • Max health
  • Experience gained from combat

Now that we reckon we’ve convinced you about the Pearl being a good pickup, we can get into the important bit – actually picking it up. The fun part is that you can actually pick this up as part of a main story mission for the Guns, Love and Tentacles DLC. Yes, you don’t have to have kicked through all the base main missions to play this, so you can get this from just cracking through the DLC content that’s playable separately. How nice! The quest that you have to complete is called The Call of Gythian, and once you’ve finished it then you’ll be able to pick up the Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge from Claptrap to round out your build. It’s really as easy as that.

Now that you have our Borderlands 3 Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge guide to help you out, it should be as easy as following along with the relevant Guns, Love and Tentacles missions til you get to The Call of Gythian.
