The latest entries in the legendary Pokemon franchise in Sword and Shield have added an array of new features for players to experience. One of these features is the Gigantamax version that creatures can achieve. This form sees the characters grow immensely in size and power. The addition of the new form has resulted in players trying to figure out if they can breed creatures with this ability. Fortunately, we have everything you need to know regarding if you can breed Gigantamax Pokemon in Sword and Shield covered.
Can You Breed Gigantamax Pokemon?
Unfortunately, players who were wanting to build an army of characters with this new form through breeding cannot do so. The community has discovered that the Gigantamax form does not pass down through reproduction, which means you will not be able to breed characters with this form purposefully.
These are arguably some of the strongest kinds of creatures in the games. This power is why the developers likely decided that it would not be good if every player could breed an entire Gigantamax army for their teams.
The only way to obtain these kinds of characters currently is to defeat them in the end-game Max Raid Battles. These encounters are where players have the chance to encounter a Gigantmax creature and add it to their teams for future battles and adventures.
