Red Dead Redemption 2 Sheep Location

Why are we out here killing sheep, you ask? Well, you’re going to need a Perfect Sheep Pelt for a number of gear items that you can only acquire from your mate, the Trapper. We’ve listed these items below:

  • Legendary Elk Half Chaps
  • Huntsman Vest
  • Trapper’s Clock
  • Sheepskin Vest

Now, if you’re wondering where to find these sheep, you’re in luck. You can’t just go around mowing down every single wooly animal in existence. That would be a little cruel, but largely also a waste of your time. This is because the sheep that you have to kill to get a Perfect Sheep Pelt is the Desert Bighorn Sheep. You’re going to wait to head for Wallace Station to actually find this animal, and make sure that you’re wandering around Cattail Pond to happen across a couple of them at a time. You’re definitely not going to be able to get close enough to melee one to death as they’re pretty skittish, so prep your binoculars and a rifle or a bow to pick them off from the herd without causing too much disarray or risking them scattering.

With our handy dandy guide to the Red Dead Redemption 2 sheep location, it’ll be easy for you to acquire any number of pelts so long as you’re smart about getting rid of these unfortunately adorable boys. If you need a hand with anything else in Red Dead Redemption 2, though, check out these other guides that we’ve prepared:
