Red Dead Redemption 2 has plenty of weapon recipes to make hunting and combat much easier. One such recipe is the one to craft poison arrows. Read on to learn how to craft poison arrows in Red Dead Redemption 2.
How to Find the Recipe and Craft Poison Arrows in Red Dead Redemption 2
The bow is an excellent weapon to make use of in Red Dead Redemption 2 and learning the ins and outs of it will be extremely useful as you explore the world that Rockstar has created. While most people will be content with normal arrows, those looking to add a little more bite to their arsenal will want to learn how to find the recipe and craft Poison Arrows in Red Dead Redemption 2.
How to Find the Recipe
Like many items in Red Dead Redemption 2, you’re going to need to learn the recipe for Poison Arrows before you can start crafting them. A lot of times, the easiest way to get your hands on the Recipe Pamphlet is going to be to make your way to the nearest Fence—like the one in Rhodes—where you can browse the vendor’s stock. You should be able to find the recipe for poison arrows at one of the Fences, so make sure you check each one that you visit to get it.
How to Craft Poison Arrows
Once you’ve got your hands on the recipe, it’s time to learn how to craft these bad boys so you can start using them. Like anything, recipes require ingredients so you’re going to need to get your hands on Feathers, Arrows, and Oleander Plants. Once you have these three items (we suggest getting multiple of each one for obvious reasons) you can start crafting to your heart’s content.
You can find Arrows from any Gunsmith or General Store. Simply walk up, talk to the vendor and then purchase as many as you need. To get your hands on Feathers, you’re going to need to start taking down some birds that you come across during your travels. Shoot the birds on the ground or take aim and hit the ones flying around above you. Either way, it shouldn’t take you too long to amass a collection of Feathers for your crafting needs.
Finally, the Oleander Plant can be found around the world. One good spot we’ve found can be located outside of Saint Denis, just across the river to the town’s western border. Something to keep in mind, though, is that many items like the Oleander Plant can take some time to grow back or may not even grow back in that same area. Because of this, keep an eye out during your travels to ensure you never run low.
With all your ingredients in hand, it’s time to craft your Poison Arrows. First, open the crafting screen at any camp or fire or by holding down Y or Triangle while a good way away from your hose. From here you can easily select the Poison Arrow and start crafting as many as you want.
Easiest Way to Farm Feathers in RDR2
You’ll find a bunch of birds near any pond or water source. However, one of the best ways is to hunt the ducks by rivers, as you’ll usually find a ton of them there. Keep in mind that you get different kinds of feathers from different birds. Turkeys, for example, are flightless, and won’t produce flight feathers. You’ll need to use either a varmint rifle or small game arrows to collect the feathers too.
With that in mind, it’s time to get back out there and make the world yours. You can return to our Red Dead Redemption 2 guide for more walkthrough content like this, as well as in-depth guides like our handy guide on how to fight, which will teach you the basics of fist fighting.
