One of the amazing perks that the Xbox Live membership has is its free games lineup every month with Xbox Games With Gold. Microsoft offers a blend of both Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles with the older 360 games being backwards compatible. Sometimes the month line-ups are hit or miss but August actually looks pretty amazing with one title, in particular, we can’t shout out enough.
Without further adieu, here’s what the Xbox free Games With Gold line-up looks like for August:
- Gears of War 4 ($29.99 ERP): Available August 1 to 31 on Xbox One
- Forza Motorsport 6 ($99 ERP): Available August 16 to September 15 on Xbox One
- Torchlight ($14.99 ERP): Available August 1 to 15 on Xbox One & Xbox 360
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow ($19.99 ERP): Available August 16 to 31 on Xbox One & Xbox 360
Though I’m a huge Gears of War fan (seriously, I own all of the lancer replicas, can’t get enough), I really can’t help but to recommend Torchlight. This was a game that was made by the creators of Diablo and it definitely plays that way. Choose from three classes: the Destroyer, the Vanquisher, or the Alchemist to take on an epic dungeon-crawler that I can’t recommend enough. Seriously, if you like dungeon-crawlers, do not sleep on this title. It’s so good and even better? It’s free!
