Overwatch Finally Adds Game Replays

3 years later, Blizzard finally adds a replay system to Overwatch.

The Overwatch 3-year anniversary event is happening now and to celebrate the studio over at Blizzard continues to find new and interesting ways to keep the FPS fresh and interesting for all. On the heels of the news that Workshop is finally out of PTR, the team gave another announcement regarding a feature that has been heavily desired since launch: Replays.

The Replay feature is now available in Overwatch’s Public Test Realm (PTR) and allows players to take a look back at their 10 most recent games. The best part, it’s not like the Highlight feature – instead, players can relive favorite matches from any perspective they choose. Speed up the match, slow down to see an epic takedown; players can even opt into a first-person or a third-person perspective!

Players will also have a chance to place permanent cameras in maps for the perfect angle every time. It’s pretty awesome and is a great tool for streamers and content creators as well. No word on when it will leave PTR, but if the feedback is good – we could see it as soon as next week.

As for the anniversary event, it’s going on from now until June 10th and offers brand new cosmetic items, returning events such as Storm Rising, and more! You can learn more about what’s new in the world of Overwatch with our previous coverage here
