Fans that are still raving about the latest John Wick movie might be excited to find out that the writer has a new project in the works and that’s taking on the popular gaming series Just Cause and turning it into a full-feature film. Creator, writer Derek Kolstad has officially the move to take the Just Cause franchise to the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Derek Kolstad will be joined by producers Adrian Askarieh and Robert Kulzer from Prime Universe Films. Askarieh has been very vocal in the past about his faith in video game-to-movie adaptations and is also intimately familiar with the world of Just Cause.
The announcement comes on the heels of an incredibly successful opening weekend for the latest movie, John Wick 3. John Wick 3: Parabellum opened with an impressive $56.8 million in revenue, officially dethroning Avengers: Endgame out of the top spot in North America.
The game themselves follows the story of Rico Rodriguez, a man tasked with stopping the nefarious forces of the Black Hand mercenary group. With Just Cause 4 having been the last game in the bunch to release and to rave reviews, now might just be the perfect time to take another crack at a new video game adaptation.
