New Overwatch Event Coming Next Week, ‘Storm Rising’

A new event is on the horizon for Overwatch players.
This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s that time again, Overwatch players! A new event is on its way to the popular FPS from Blizzard with a very green-looking Soldier 76 front and center of the latest video. The studio over at Blizzard took to the game’s Twitter account with a new video teasing some very exciting things coming down the pipeline starting next week.

The latest Archives event for the game is called Storm Rising and it teases a transmission blog sent to Soldier 76 about a mission on the horizon. According to the teaser, players will be assuming the role of Mercy, Genji, Windston, and Tracer in a 4-man mission starting on April 16th. The event will run from then until May 6th, giving just enough time for players to unlock the limited-time skins and cosmetics before the latest Archive stunt ends.

Also speculated is that we could finally be seeing the previously teased Havana map during this new event, though that hasn’t been officially confirmed at this time. Given that Baptiste is now officially a part of the game, now is the perfect time for the studio to drop the new map that is so integrated within his lore.

As for the game itself, Overwatch is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Still no signs of a Nintendo Switch port, though with the team over at Blizzard completely restructuring how they are tackling the future of Overwatch, anything is possible.
