As you explore the wilds of Red Dead Redemption 2 you’re going to come across a slew of animals that you can hunt and slaughter to acquire items like hide. Along the way you’ll also find yourself hunting several legendary animals, like the Legendary Moose in Red Dead Redemption 2, which will challenge all that you know as a hunter to take down. Today we’ll show you everything you need to know to find and kill the Legendary Moose in Red Dead Redemption 2, so that you can make use of the unique items it has to offer.
How to Find the Legendary Moose
To find the Legendary Moose, you’re going to want to make your way over to Annesburg. From here, hop on your horse and head across the river as you follow the train tracks northbound. There is a group of trees along the northern side of the tracks where you should be able to find your first clue, a Moose Tree Rub.
Once you’ve found the first clue, it’s time to start following the Moose’s trail using your Eagle Eye ability. There are a series of two more clues you’ll need to find in order to find the Moose.
- The next clue is Moose Dung. This can be found south of the train tracks.
- The final clue you need to find is Moose Fur. To find this clue, search along the bank of the river to the south of the train tracks.
Once you have found all of the clues, it’s time to track the Moose the rest of the way. We have heard reports of users having trouble finding all of the clues. If you experience this issue then make sure you have no mobile camps set up in the immediate area, then leave the region and come back. This should cause any glitches to fix themselves, allowing you to continue the hunt.
How to Kill the Legendary Moose
When you’ve tracked down the Moose and found it grazing in the wilds, it is time to start the final part of the hunt—taking down the beast. The best way to find critical areas is to use the Dead Eye ability, then aim for the area just above the animal’s front shoulders. This should allow you to deal quite a bit of damage to the animal, making it easier to take it down. Keep in mind, though, that taking down this beast won’t be easy. It is a legendary animal after all.
After you have managed to take the Moose down, skin it and take the pelt to the Trapper. You can also return to our Red Dead Redemption 2 guide for more helpful information like this.
