How to Get Truffle in Solarpunk

To get the Airship level 4 upgrade, you are going to need a lot of Truffle in Solarpunk. You can’t really find these on any of the islands because they are a byproduct resource. Here’s a quick guide to getting Truffle in Solarpunk.
Where to Get Truffle in Solarpunk
The main way to get Truffle is by setting up a pig farm. This requires the tier 6 upgrade at the Research Table, which unlocks the Pig Shelter research for 5x Carrot and 5x Wood. You can only obtain Carrots by unlocking the new islands upon reaching the Airship level 3 upgrade. That means you’ll have to finish all the following Traderbot trades to get this Airship level:
- 4x Watermelon
- 12x Cotton
- 20x Beeswax
- 10x Watermelon
- 32x Copper
- 5x Silicon
- 10x Wheat
- 20x Cloth
- 10x Bread
- 6x Egg (Airship Level 3)
When you unlock the new islands, start searching for all the Carrots available to get all the Carrot Seeds. The big island in the south should have 5x Carrot spawns, which will give you a lot of seeds to start with. If you want to speed up the production, get the Seedspack research at the Research Table and multiply the Carrot Seeds.
After you finish all these requirements, you should start working on your pig farm by looking for pigs to transport first. Set up your Animal Teleportation Receiver and bring an Animal Transportation device. You should be aware of how this works since you should’ve done it with your chicken farm, but if you need a refresher, use this guide here.
In the same southern island (shown in the map above), there should be a pig spawn here. There’s even an Animal Transportation spawn in one of the chests on the island. There’s also one pig in one of the previous islands from the previous tier, so that totals to two available pigs at Airship level 3.
Once you have your pigs at your base, start building the Pig Shelter with a Feeding Trough and Water Trough. Pigs and chickens share the food and water, so you must build multiple feeding stations depending on how many animals you have. I would say for 2 chickens and 2 pigs, 3 Feeding Troughs and 3 Water Troughs is good enough.
Satisfy the needs of your pigs (shelter, hunger, and thirst), and you should get some Truffle spawns near the Pig Shelter. Their needs must be met with three 10/10 to start getting Truffle. So, if you don’t have an ample supply of Animal Feed for all these animals, you should grow more crops and get the Better Animal Feed research to unlock more alternative recipes to create Animal Feed.
Farm enough Truffle, specifically 10, to finish the Traderbot trade that unlocks the Airship Level 4 upgrade, assuming you completed all the other trades past the 6x Egg up to the 2x Raspberry Muffins.
