Here are some of the best talents you should definitely take a look at, regardless of your build in Windrose.

Best Talents to Take in Windrose

Marathon Runner – Grants 20/35/50 additional stamina.

Marathon Runner is one of the best and probably most overlooked talents in the game. It is part of the first tier of the mobility tree, so every build can take it and benefit from it (even ranged weapon users). Having more Stamina is just great overall. You can dodge more, attack more before resting, and also farm more resources.

There are even niche builds, like using the Bonebreaker melee weapon that has increased damage for how much Stamina you have.

Too Angry to Die – When you receive a killing blow, instantly restore 30%/50%/70% Health. Cooldown: 16/13/10 minutes.

In the last tier of the mobility tree, you have a lifesaver talent that prevents you from dying once every 16/13/10 minutes. That’s a big one, especially during those long adventures when you don’t have a fast travel point, and you don’t want to sail back and forth for 10-15 minutes just to keep progressing. Apart from this situation, it also helps you in almost all combat cases.

Stout Frame – Increases maximum Health by 120/180/240.

Increased health. Nothing much to say here, but since it is next to Too Angry to Die, might as well get it too.

Dominating Presence – When an enemy dies within 8m, you gain 6%/12%/18% Melee Damage bonus for 60 seconds.

One of the highest damage percentage increases from the talent tree. This is more for strength stat-builds that use two-handed weapons.

Bulletstorm – Consecutive ranged hits without missing grant a stacking 5%/7%/9% Damage bonus to your next shot, capped after 4 hits.

While ranged builds are mostly straightforward, since the talents mostly revolve around more ranged damage and reload speed. Bulletstorm does have the highest stacking damage bonus, and it can get a little crazy with more talents, the right stats, and a good weapon.

Agile – Dash and Jump actions consume 15%/27.5%/40% less Stamina.

Another tier 1 (early) and useful talent that can be used by all types of builds.

You Will Answer for This – Increases Temporal Health gained when taking damage by 25%/50%/75%.

Retribution – Your attacks are 40% more effective in converting Temporal Health into Health.

You Will Answer for This and Retribution could work well together, basically giving your character a way to leech life consistently. Works on almost all builds, but is more useful for melee builds, especially one-handed weapons that rely on agility.

Other talents are also great, depending on what build you are actually going for. Character builds in Windrose usually rely on what weapon you prefer to use, and talents tied to specific weapon builds are also viable talents. This list mostly contains overlooked and general talents that are usable by all types or just staple talents for specific builds.
