Nioh 3 Save File Location on PC
Don't let the Yokai find these.
Nioh 3 is finally out on PC and PS5, and it has already surpassed the peak player count of Nioh 2 within hours of its release. The PC version is a major step above Rise of the Ronin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, with tons to tweak and customize.
If you’re playing the PC version and want to locate your local progress data, here is the save file location for Nioh 3.

Unlike previous KOEI TECMO titles, which created dedicated folders in the Documents folder of Windows, Nioh 3’s save files are saved in the AppData folder instead. Inside the Savedata folder, you’ll find another folder with your unique Steam numeric ID, and within it, individual folders for your save files. For ease of use, I recommend backing up the entire NIOH3 folder for safekeeping or relocating it.
You can access the same location for the save data by entering the following address in Windows Explorer or Windows Run:
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/KoeiTecmo/NIOH3/Savedata
Does Nioh 3 Have Multiple Save Slots?
Yes, like previous titles, you can create multiple save slots in Nioh 3 for unique characters and separate progress and campaigns.
Nioh 3 Steam Features
Nioh 3 supports Steam Cloud, which means you can access your progress on a different device as long as your Steam account is logged into it. It also comes with the following features exclusive to the Steam client:
- Steam Family Sharing: If you own a copy of Nioh 3, members of your Steam family can access it in their libraries.
- Steam Input: While the game has native support for multiple controllers, you can always use Steam Input to get third-party controllers to work without a hassle.
- Steam Leaderboards and Stats
- Steam Trading Cards: As you play through Nioh 3, you’ll receive trading card drops, which contribute to badge progress and can be sold on the marketplace.
Nioh 3 isn’t verified for the Steam Deck, and it doesn’t run well on the hardware at all. If you’re planning on buying it for that device, I don’t recommend it.
