How to Get Thorium in Hytale
A rare and powerful resource.
There are many different ores you can find while exploring in Hytale, ranging from common, lower-quality ones to rare, high-quality ones. Thorium is the best of the best, so it’s also unsurprisingly very difficult to find.
If you want to get your hands on the strongest armor and weapons possible, you’ll need lots of Thorium to make it happen. Although this resource is rare, it’s much easier to find once you know where to look, so here’s how to get Thorium in Hytale.
Where to Find Thorium Ore in Hytale
Thorium Ore can be found in the Badlands biome in Hytale. It’s possible that it may spawn in other areas, too, but so far, we’ve only ever encountered it in this region. We’ll keep exploring, though, and add any other spawn locations here if we find them.
Badlands biomes are vibrant, rocky landscapes similar to the Grand Canyon in real life. It’s got massive mountains, deep ravines, and lots of caves to explore. Throughout these areas, you can find Thorium just about anywhere. It’s a green ore that’s usually fairly easy to spot, as it sticks out among the otherwise warm tones of these areas.
Thorium can appear out in the open along rocky mountain inclines or in ravines. It can also spawn tucked away in hidden caves, so there’s no one specific way you have to go hunting for it. Instead, you’ll simply want to head to a Badlands and search the full biome as much as you can.
You’ll know you’re in the right area to start searching when you get a biome title pop-up letting you know you’ve entered the Badlands. Look for bright pops of green among the otherwise warm-toned desert landscape to find it.
This ore can appear on Basalt blocks, Sandstone blocks, Shale blocks, Stone blocks, and Volcanic blocks, so any regions where you encounter these types of blocks may have a chance of hiding some Thorium. Warm, desert-like areas similar to the Badlands seem to have the best chance of having some.
You can mine Thorium with any type of Pickaxe, even a Crude Pickaxe, so don’t worry too much about what type of tool you’re using to get it. All that matters is you mine as much as you can so you can get going on transforming them into ingots.
How to Craft Thorium Ingots in Hytale
Once you have Thorium Ore, you’ll need a Furnace to convert it into a usable Thorium Ingot. You’ll also need some kind of fuel, like Sticks or Wood, to actually start the Furnace. Once you light it, the transformation process will begin, and before you know it, you’ll have some shiny new Thorium Ingots you can use to craft armor, weapons, and other such resources.
There are plenty of other important materials you’ll need if you want to get better gear and find more items. Some other resources you may want to go looking for next are Leather, Copper Ingots, Rubble, and Wood.
