You’ll need a total of 20 Iron Ingots and 30 Copper Ingots to upgrade your workbench to level 2 in Hytale. Here’s how to quickly find Iron and Copper in Hytale.

How to Find Copper in Hytale

You can find Copper starting at a depth of 15-20 blocks. However, digging aimlessly downwards will not give you favorable results. Instead, we suggest looking for the pre-generated cavern openings as they lead to cavern systems with pre-rendered biomes and ore nodes.

You’re much more likely to find Copper while descending into these caverns. Make sure to bring torches for visibility. Once you have a bit of Copper, make sure to craft a Copper Pickaxe to make mining easier. The only threats at these early depths are rats, bats, and the occasional spider.

Copper doesn’t have too much use, so 50 Ingots will be enough for most of the upgrades and tools. In some cases, you can even find Copper on the surface.

How to Find Iron in Hytale

Iron is a bit more challenging to find in Hytale, as you will have to descend to depths around 50 blocks to start consistently finding it. At these depths, you’ll run into enemies like the Lava Golems frequently, so bring your best gear and a lot of food. We also suggest bringing a lot of torches so you can easily mark your path and avoid getting lost in the depths. Each Iron block gives one Iron Ore.

Caves that are located further from your spawn location and near more dangerous areas have a higher chance of having Iron blocks closer to the surface.

How to Make Copper and Iron Ingots in Hytale

Once you have the Ore, you need to process it into Ingots at a Furnace. Craft a Furnace from your workbench and place the Ore and a fuel source like Tree Bark or Sticks. Turn it on, and it will process your Ore into Ingots ready for use in upgrading the workbench or crafting weapons and armor.
