Where to Get Sticks in Hytale

Sticks will help you craft the most basic tools and weapons. You can immediately craft basic weapons like swords or daggers to defend yourself or farm some Hides. Sticks are also used to craft the starter tools, the Crude Hatchet, Crude Hammer, and Crude Pickaxe. The Hatchet is for cutting trees and shrubs; The Hammer is for designing; The Pickaxe is for mining minerals.

You can find Sticks just lying around, mostly in forest biomes. But, if you have a Crude Hatchet already, just cut down trees and shrubs to get some easy Sticks.

For getting Wood, you’d use the same Crude Hatchet to cut down trees. These trees will drop different types of logs, which are considered any type of wood in the crafting menu. Apart from these logs, you also get a ton of Sticks from cutting down trees.

The best way to farm them quickly is to find thick trees and start swinging from the base. Once the base is gone, the whole tree just drops everything else. An even better strategy is to look for trees at least 2×2 in size. If you break the base (4 tiles), it’ll all break down, giving you a lot of logs and sticks in one go.

You’d always want logs and sticks because they are frequently used, and you’ll usually want them in high quantities, especially when you are planning to build a big house or base. For one, your base and design both need logs, unlike other crafts. Second, Sticks and logs are used as fuel to start the Furnace when smelting other resources.
