Best Marvel Zombies Magik Build in Marvel Rivals

She's an unstoppable zombie slaying machine.

There are only five characters you can charge into battle with in the special Marvel Zombies mode in Marvel Rivals. One of these heroes is Magik, and when built right, she’s capable of dealing the most damage with ease.

Figuring out the best way to build up each character is tricky, as there are multiple paths to choose from and plenty of unique abilities you can unlock. The choices you make before jumping into battle directly affect the outcome of the round, so here’s everything you need to know to make the best Marvel Zombies Magik build in Marvel Rivals.

The best Magik build in the Marvel Zombies mode is one focused on her basic Soulsword ability, which is the red path. This likely seems a bit counterintuitive to you, especially since this mode gives you the opportunity to permanently enter the Darkchild state. Her damage output is a lot higher if you keep her in regular form for the entire round, though, so it’s generally best not to touch this state at all.

You can still have a really solid build if you lean into the blue Darkchild path instead, and doing so will get you through the early difficulty levels with ease. For the endgame, though, it’s the red path you want, as there are certain Blessings and abilities you can only use while not in the Darkchild state. Magik is the most flexible of the available heroes, so it still might be worth trying out each path to determine which one fits your own playstyle best. For sheer damage output and overall effectiveness, though, a Soulsword, red path build is the best.

Best Abilities for Magik in Marvel Rivals Zombies

The only ability that really matters for Magik’s best build is the first one, since the rest are focused on abilities you won’t really be using. Still, we’ve listed all the best choices here, and it’s worth selecting them just in case you want to try them out in battle. Her best ability options are Mortal Will, Limbo Step, and Reaper’s Resolve.

  • Mortal Will – Magik’s ultimate ability, which is her Darkchild state, cannot be used, but her health and damage are increased to make up for it. This is a superb ability to select for her best build, which prioritizes her regular fighting state.
  • Limbo Step – Allows Magik to dash forward, slicing through enemies while dealing damage and launching them upward along the way. You likely won’t use this much, but it’s a solid skill to have in your wheelhouse.
  • Reaper’s Resolve – Her Eldritch Whirl ability can be activated repeatedly for a short time, allowing you to perform multiple swinging attacks.

Best Traits to Upgrade for Magik in Marvel Rivals Zombies

You want to spend all of your points on Magik’s Soulsword Trait path, which is the red one, to make her as effective in combat as possible. With this build, you won’t be entering Darkchild at all, so don’t throw any of your points at the blue path since all of those Traits are focused on it.

Best Khonshu’s Blessings for Magik in Marvel Rivals Zombies

For Khonshu’s Blessings, you also want to primarily want to focus on the red ones. Grabbing plenty of purple ones is crucial, too, but you can ignore all of the blue ones that pop up entirely, as they’re all for her Darkchild state.

  • Arcane Sword Dash (red)
  • Soul Domain (red)
  • Innate Slash (red)
  • Soul Surge (red)
  • Vampiric Vitality (purple)
  • Full Moon (purple)
  • Moonlight Protection (purple)
  • Vitality Boost (purple)
  • Power Surge (purple)

Overall, your goal here is to enhance her damage output, especially with Soulsword, and increase her survivability. Her build style is super similar to Blade’s, with both heroes requiring many of the same Blessings, so if you’ve already worked on him, you’ll likely have a solid understanding of what you’re trying to do here.

If you enjoy playing Magik in this mode, you also might want to check out the best Blade build in Marvel Rivals Zombies, as he fights pretty similarly to her in it, so switching between the two is a great way to mix things up.
