There are two dangerous zombie bosses waiting to fight you throughout the Marvel Zombies mode in Marvel Rivals. The first one you’ll encounter is Namor, the undead king of the seas, who is a pretty daunting foe to face.
You’re thrown into this boss battle without any guidance, so figuring out what abilities to watch out for and how to actually take Namor down can be tricky. Getting through this battle is crucial for completing each match, so if you’re struggling to progress, here’s how to beat Namor in Marvel Zombies in Marvel Rivals.
How to Defeat Namor in Marvel Zombies in Marvel Rivals

To beat Namor in the Marvel Zombies mode, you need to take out his Monstro spawn, break his shield, and fire at him with everything you’ve got. He’s not the most daunting enemy you’ll face in this mode, but he’s certainly a tough guy to beat if you don’t understand how he works and what needs to be done to eliminate him.
How to Break Namor’s Shield in Marvel Zombies in Marvel Rivals
The trickiest part of Namor’s boss battle is when he activates his shield, which stops you from dealing any damage against him. You’ll know the shield is active if you try to attack him but see a small yellow shield icon appear in place of your crosshair.
When this happens, you must focus on getting through it, as your progress is halted until you do. Luckily, you can break Namor’s shield by killing the Monstro spawn around him. There’s no exact number of spawns to kill here, so just keep fighting them and watching for the shield icon to disappear. As soon as it does, the battle is back on, so you can attack both Namor and his spawn to deal damage against him.
All Namor Boss Abilities in Marvel Rivals

Getting through the Zombie Namor boss battle is a lot easier if you have a solid understanding of how his skills work, so here are all the Namor boss abilities in the Marvel Zombies mode.
- Starts every fight in an invulnerable state that can only be broken by killing Monstro.
- Launches triple spears, creating water zones.
- Creates large water zones that eventually erupt, sending players flying with knockback and spawning Monstro eggs.
- Summons Aura Monstro, which are larger, tougher versions of them. These creatures provide buffs, including boosted damage, healing, freezing, berserk, and gamma radiation.
- Traps players in a water prison, slowly rising and dealing regular damage to them.
When Namor’s health starts to get low, he unlocks a new ability:
- Teleports to the center of the map and blows his horn to spawn Giganto. This creature then spawns in a deadly swarm of other Monstro, with both Aura Monstro appearing around the area and a Monstro egg storm raining down havoc from the sky.
Tips and Tricks for Beating Namor in Marvel Zombies in Marvel Rivals

Namor’s a tough guy to beat, so if you’re still struggling to get through the Marvel Zombies boss battle, here are the most essential tips and tricks to help you get through.
- Don’t ignore the Monstro. It can be tempting to focus solely on Namor, but taking out his loyal squid followers is crucial for multiple reasons. You must eliminate them to break his shield, and they deal quite a lot of damage to you if left unchecked so killing them also helps to deplete Namor’s health.
- Try to keep some distance between you and Namor. For some characters, this isn’t really possible to do, as they need to be up close with him to deal heavy damage. Generally, though, you don’t want to be right by him, as he might knock your health down quickly if you are.
- When Namor’s shield is up, focus solely on Monstro. You can’t deal any damage to him until you break it, which is done by eliminating his summons. The entire team should work together to focus on taking out all Monstros present until his shield breaks.
- Watch out for Namor’s water zones. Keep a close eye on the ground and move away swiftly if you see any outlines for water zones around you. These areas deal strong damage over time, and Namor also sometimes drops whales on you in them.
- Have Jeff or The Punisher on your team. These two characters are by far the most effective in the Namor boss fight, as they both have abilities that allow them to spray damage against the Monstro spawn with ease, regardless of how far away they appear. These creatures pop up in some pretty far and hard-to-reach places, so you absolutely want at least one of these two to deal with them.
Now that you’ve mastered this fight, you’re ready to take on the endgame boss battle. Beating Scarlet Witch is the last objective you need to tackle in every round, and she’s a heck of a lot tougher to fight, so be sure to learn the best characters to use in Marvel Zombies to prepare for it.
