Grandery is filled with side quests, hidden paths, and tough bosses to defeat. Some areas require completing specific tasks before they become accessible. To reach the mountains, you’ll first need to repair the broken bridge blocking your way.

Here’s how you can repair the broken bridge in Absolum and continue your journey forward.

Repair the Bridge in Absolum

To repair the bridge in Absolum, you need to beat Gazog, Son of Zorg, and then speak to the Goblin Village Elder. The request to repair it is brought up by Jendriuk the Faithful, who stands at the edge of the once-standing bridge.

They will repair the bridge, allowing you to make your journey to the mountains. After the bridge is repaired, speak to Ederig the Stalwart at the Sanctuary, and he’ll instruct you to visit the mountains via the newly repaired bridge and drink from the Holy Fountain.

I won’t spoil what happens when you do, as it’s more of a narrative moment, but on your way, you’ll run into a few difficult enemies at the very least.

Keep in mind that directly after the mountains, you’ll have to fight Gazog again anyway, so this new path doesn’t really skip the boss fight or give you the choice to travel at a different node.

While the path is worth it for the associated quest and reward, it’s not an ideal path to take on if you’re looking to maximize your build damage before the Underking and your journey beyond Grandery. Instead, you want to go through the Mouldy Cave and fight an additional boss before Gazog or Rudolf to get an extra inspiration.

There isn’t an achievement associated with this quest, but you do get some unique dialogue from several NPCs because of it, and open up a new path. Additionally, there is a secret treasure room in the mountains, but it’s not really going to give you something that you’ll bring back to the Sanctuary.

Overall, the requirement for repairing the bridge is pretty simple, and if you’re struggling to beat Gazog, I have plenty of tips to counter each move.
