Obtaining the Special Battery as you go through the final battle is a bit tricky in Digimon Story: Time Stranger. You’re tasked to recover the Special Battery, but it isn’t clear where or how.
Here’s a quick guide on showing where you can find the Special Battery to progress in the Final Battle Over the Natural Order mission in DSTS.
Where to Find the Special Battery in Digimon Story Time Stranger

It may seem like The Final Battle Over the Natural Order mission is almost done, but you have to go through some hoops before you reach the final battle or the climax of the story.
After chasing Inori with Aegiomon, you’ll find yourself in a familiar location, particularly the area where you fought Vulcanusmon. This area, or the Akashic Oblivion, shows a gate you’ll have to go through, but you’ll need the Special Battery first.
The gate is floating in the middle of nowhere, and there seems to be no other place to go. The trick here is to go through the huge open area and start using your scanner by pressing L2, LT, or Q, depending on your platform.
When you scan the area, it shows a platform or the layout of the area. You can freely run through the platform as long as you know there’s one beneath you. Once the platform is scanned, it’ll slowly disappear in a few seconds. You can use your scan again to get your bearings, but you can also move ahead if you know the direction. You won’t fall even if the platform disappears because they still exist, but are just transparent.

This is how you get around the Akashic Oblivion, but you still have to find the Special Battery. The only way to find the Special Battery is to keep fighting the Tsumemons around the area. My Special Battery dropped from one of the Tsumemons on the southeast side when looking directly at the gate or portal.
You can also find some materials as you explore the area. Use your DigiAttacks to reach the Tsumemons to avoid falling off in the middle of nowhere. If you do fall, you’ll respawn at the start of the area.
After getting the Special Battery, you’ll go back and enter a cutscene. You’ll encounter a boss before proceeding to Junomon’s gate, so you might want to level up and gear up for the fight, especially since the final battle is coming.
