When Does Grounded 2 Release? Global Launch Times

Obsidian Entertainment isn’t done with 2025 just yet, and after the success of Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 on the way, Grounded 2 is almost here to fill that gap with some much-needed survival goodness. Grounded 2 is set to release in early access in a few days on PC and Xbox Series S|X.

Here are the release times for Grounded 2, along with a handy countdown timer to prepare you for its launch on PC and consoles.

Grounded 2 Release Date Timer

Grounded 2 launches on PC via Steam and Xbox App, and Xbox Series S|X on July 29, or July 30, 2025 depending on your region. It’s a global simultaneous launch, so everyone will start playing at the same time. I’ve set up a countdown timer for Grounded 2’s early access launch.

Is Grounded 2 Coming to Xbox Game Pass?

Yes, Grounded 2 is launching day one on PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.

Microsoft owns Obsidian Entertainment, and all their titles launch day one on the Xbox Game Pass Service, which is also the case for their upcoming RPG, The Outer Worlds 2.

Grounded 2 Early Access Pricing

If you want to buy Grounded 2 instead, it will be available for $30 during early access for the Standard Edition.

Grounded 2 Founder’s Edition

The Founder’s Edition for Grounded 2 will be available for $40 instead and includes the following additional content:

Can You Pre-Load Grounded 2?

Grounded 2 can’t be pre-loaded on Steam since it isn’t available for purchase there, but if you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, you can pre-load it through the Xbox app on PC and Xbox consoles. However, it only downloads a fraction of the game at the moment, which suggests that the full download will likely happen at launch.

Grounded 2 is only a few days from its release, and while you can’t pre-order it, make sure to check out the system requirements to see if your PC is up to snuff.
