Blizzard opted to go with a more traditional model, charging between $40 and $60 for Overwatch, depending on the version purchased. However, microtransactions in the form of loot boxes ranging in price from $2 to $40 helped pave the way for the title’s high earnings. With a competitive mode and heavy esports coverage planned over the next few months, Overwatch is not showing any signs of slowing down.
