Battlefield Hardline PC Specs – Can Your Machine Run the Game?

Details on the minimum and recommended requirements for Battlefield Hardline on PC.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

There is something pure about playing a Battlefield game on PC. Not that we’re hating on the console versions – that’s one of the primary places we go to get our fix. No, it’s not that consoles are bad, it’s just that the PC version is so good.

The problem that a lot of people have, however, is ensuring that their rig is up to the task of running such a game. Sure, most PC gamers have decent builds that can handle it, but for the truly elite PC players, there is a big difference between being able to run it, and being able to run it on maximum settings.

Today we’re going to outline both the minimum and recommended settings for playing Battlefield Hardline on the PC. With just under two weeks to go until the game launches, this should be enough time to order additional parts should you require them.

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows Vista SP2 64 Bit (with KB971512 Update)
  • CPU: Athlon II/Phenom II 2.8 GHz, Intel Core i3/i5 2.4 GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB of RAM
  • GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5770 (1 GB), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (896 MB)
  • Hard Drive: 60 GB
  • API: DirectX 11

Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 8 64-Bit (with KB971512 Update)
  • CPU: Intel Quad-Core CPU, AMD Six-Core CPU
  • Memory: 8 GB of RAM
  • GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
  • Graphics Memory: 3 GB
  • Hard Drive Space: 60 GB
  • API: DirectX 11

There’s quite a large gap between the minimum and recommended requirements, and even with the latter, it’s not likely enough to run the game on maximum settings. We don’t know that for sure, but if previous Battlefield games taught us anything, it’s that PC gamers will take our idea of a monster gaming rig and turn it on its head.

Still, some of the newer players to PC gaming (or even current console owners that want to make the switch) may need a little help getting started. We realize this, and for that reason we highly recommend checking out the video below by Battlefield veteran, JackFrags. In it, he walks viewers through a cheap gaming PC build, demonstrating how to install each component to create a perfect starter rig.

Battlefield Hardline will release for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 17, 2015 in North America, and March 19, 2015 in Europe.
