Ubisoft has slowly but surely made its return to the Steam store over the past year, and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will mark its return to day-one releases on the platform. Additionally, Ubisoft has been updating several existing titles by adding Steam achievements. These stealth updates are a welcome surprise, and now the best entry in the Far Cry series includes Steam achievements as well. If you have been waiting for an excuse to meet the charismatic Pagan Min again, now is the time to redownload Far Cry 4.

Far Cry 4 – Now with Steam Achievements

Like a bunch of other Ubisoft titles, Far Cry 4 now has native Steam achievements to unlock and collect. If you have previously played the game on Steam, simply launch the title, and any achievements you’ve unlocked in Ubisoft Connect will sync automatically with Steam. You don’t have to earn these again.

Everyone has their favorite Far Cry game, and while I loved my time with Far Cry 3, the fourth entry took everything special about the new formula and cranked it up to 11 while addressing many of the shortcomings with added polish. It had a bigger map, more verticality, better customization for the main character, an even wider range of available weapons, and just a far more involved campaign.

It also has great gameplay depth and freedom compared to its successors with a greater emphasis on immersion and player control. Did I mention that you can ride an elephant with a machine gun in one hand to wreak havoc on a bandit camp? Because Far Cry 4 lets you do that.

It’s also a gorgeous game and Kyrat is one of the best locations in the series. Boot it up now, and it’s still a vibrant open world with breathtaking vistas and an incredible variety of fauna and flora. Ubisoft has also confirmed in the same announcement post that Far Cry 3 is also getting Steam achievements at a later date.

Now that I’ve successfully sold you on this worthy sequel and expressed my love for the last Far Cry game I genuinely enjoyed, go ahead and redownload it to earn those Steam achievements, and then let me know how wrong I am in the comments.
