There are a lot of Pokemon players who grew up with Dragonite as their favorite Pokemon. If you are one of those players, you’ll certainly have fun In the Pokemon TCG Pocket game since there is a strong deck revolving around Dragonite, and it is also a budget deck. Here’s the full Dragonite decklist in Pokemon TCG Pocket along with how to use the deck properly.
Best Dragonite Deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket | Full Decklist and Budget Version
2x Dratini | 2x Snom | 2x Misty | 2x X Speed |
2x Dragonair | 2x Frosmoth | 2x Professor’s Research | |
2x Dragonite | 2x Sabrina | 2x Poké Ball |
Dragonite has one of the most interesting skills in the game. Its Draco Meteor requires a whopping four energies and it also needs both lightning and water energy cards attached to it. Since energy is streamlined in Pokemon TCG Pocket, you don’t have to rely on luck to draw different colors, as your energy zone has both water and lightning energy in it.
Draco Meteor chooses four random targets and deals 50 damage to each target. Each choice is made separately, meaning if a Squirtle (60HP) gets hit twice, there is no chance of hitting it a third time. Dragonite preys on stage three evolution decks that have too many unevolved Pokemon on their bench. A single Draco Meteor can finish the game if you are lucky and everything aligns.
Snom and Frosmoth round up the deck as good partners. Frosmoth’s Powder Snow has a 100% chance to put the enemy to sleep, forcing them to hit a 50-50 coin flip to do an attack. This effectively delays everything until you can power up your Dragonite.
X Speed is there to save Frosmoth or a Dratini that has been forced out. You want to use Misty to quicken the energy generation of Frosmoth to speed up your delay tactics. You also want to use your energy on Dragonite as much as possible, but on some occasions, you might use one on Frosmoth if Misty is a bit unlucky.
Sabrina is easy to use on this Dragonite deck because it only has one purpose, which is to delay the opponent as much as possible. Since Dragonite doesn’t really care who the opponent’s active Pokemon is, you will always use Sabrina to delay an upcoming attack from the enemy or force them to spend an energy card for a retreat.

Dragonite Deck Playstyle and Strategy
As most of the strategy was already covered, here are some more specific ones:
- Always put Snom as your active Pokemon to charge up Dragonite.
- Prioritize energy on Dratini.
- If you have a Misty, use it on Frosmoth first before attaching an energy card.
- If Misty hits once, attach another energy on Frosmoth so you can use Powder Snow as a delay.
- If Misty misses, focus on Dratini and Frostmoth will serve as a “bait.”
- Use Sabrina to delay the enemy and use X Speed to either save points or bring a fully-charged Dragonite onto the field.
- Draco Meteor and win!
Dragonite is very budget-friendly. Even if Dragonite has a three-star rarity, its illustration rare version is only a one-star, which makes it easier to get than others. You might even find it more difficult to get Misty.
If you do, however, you can buy Misty for 70 Pack Exchange Points (the blue icon on the lower right-hand side of your screen on your booster pack selection screen).
