How to Farm the Rod of Kepeleke Unique in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred

The Rod of Kepeleke is a Spiritborn-exclusive unique item found in almost any content, specifically on Torment difficulty. Since the Rod of Kepeleke is a weapon, it is important that you also find a “Greater Affix” version – with the changes in Vessel of Hatred, it is basically the ancestral version of the item now – so you can take advantage of the increased damage per second stat tied to the item level.

Ancestral items have a fixed 800-item level, whereas an ordinary legendary item is only stuck at 750-item level. The difference is enormous when it comes to weapons, so you want to target farm the Rod of Kepeleke until you get an ancestral version.

Luckily, the Rod of Kepeleke can be target-farmed in two main methods: boss farming and Undercity runs. The Rod of Kepeleke has an increased drop rate when fighting Duriel and Andariel. You can get their summoning materials from the season journey caches or from fighting the other bosses like Zir, Beast in the Ice, Varshan, and Grigoire.

The other method is using Tributes of Ascendance (Resolute) and offering a bargain for more weapons using Iron Chunks in an Undercity run. Finding Tributes is easy, but the Tribute of Ascendance (Resolute) is quite rare, and you can only find them in Silent Chests, which is opened by Whispering Keys.

The preferred method would always be Duriel and Andariel, as their materials are “easier” to obtain than a Tribute of Ascendance. Join a rota farming party so you can efficiently run four runs for each summon you can do.

Rod of Kepeleke Stats

The Rod of Kepeleke activates some of the best Spiritborn builds in the Season of Hatred. It offers the following stats:

  • +[12 – 24] Maximum Resource
  • +[80 – 100]% Critical Strike Damage
  • +[26 – 35]% Chance for Core Skills to Hit Twice
  • +[2 – 4] Velocity Skill

However, players use the Rod of Kepeleke for this effect:

  • Your Core Skills are now additionally Basic Skills, free to cast, and deal up to 30% less damage based on their cost.
  • When cast at Maximum Vigor, your Core Skills consume all Vigor to return to full damage, cast at their largest size, and become guaranteed Critical Strikes, with [1.00 – 3.00]%[x] increased Critical Strike Damage for each point of Vigor spent this way.

Players can capitalize on the effect by turning tempering rolls into increased basic attack damage since Core skills are now treated as basic skills. This is a big boost in power, along with the guaranteed critical strike when you are always at maximum Vigor. This drastically changes any build since you can replace every critical strike chance to another stat.
