Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster brings back the 2006 classic CAPCOM title with improved visuals, controls, and added quality-of-life features. The PC version, like other RE Engine releases, has tons of settings to tweak and adjust, as well as a decent amount of support for multiple input types. However, if you’re running into any controller issues while playing Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, here is how you can fix those.
Fixing Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Controller Issues
To make sure all controllers work properly in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, you need to enable Steam Input as the game only has native support for Xbox controllers.
To do this, follow the steps below:
- Make sure Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster isn’t running
- Open Steam, and navigate to your library
- Here, right-click on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster and select Properties
- In the Controller tab, select the Enable Steam Input option under Override Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
After that, all controllers should work normally through the Steam Input layer.
Change Button Prompts in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
Once Steam Input is enabled for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, you can now switch between different button prompt types.
- In the Main Menu, select Options
- Now select Controls, and then change the prompt type by changing the value of Button Icon Type. Type A is Xbox prompts, while Type B is PlayStation Prompts.
This is a nice feature to have and lets users switch to whatever prompt they’re comfortable with regardless of the controller type connected.
Check Detected Controllers
If you still can’t get your controllers to work, make sure Steam is actually detecting the ones you have plugged in. To check detected controllers in the Steam client, simply select Steam > Settings > Controller:
