How to Beat Helbrute in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2

Who's the real brute here?!

There are several bosses in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, but few are as hard as the Helbrute boss. The Helbrute is enormous, packs a big punch, and moves way faster than it should. You’ll see some attacks that don’t even notify you there is an incoming attack. If you are having trouble with the fight, here’s a quick guide on how to beat the Helbrute boss in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2.

There are two dangerous attacks when fighting the Helbrute. First, every time the boss cocks his hand backward, it is going to do an overhead smash. If you run away from the attack, the boss still jumps toward you. It feels and looks odd as the Helbrute kind of slides to reach you. The only way around it is to dodge it as the attack comes to you. If you feel safe by being far from it, you aren’t.

There are also times when the red circle (attack notification) doesn’t show up. You should always be ready to dodge or roll whenever needed.

Second, when the Helbrute does a smash attack to the ground, you can easily dodge it by timing a dodge perfectly. There’s a red circle notification for this attack. However, it slowly pauses once its hand is on the ground and does another smash afterward. It kind of baits you to play safe after dodging an attack, but the Helbrute quickly jumps to you for another one.

The rest of the attacks are fairly straightforward. You just need to look for attack signs and dodge or parry when needed.

If you play far away from the boss and have your teammates tank it, you still have to pay attention to its attacks. If you see a bright purple light emitting from the boss, it is casting a teleport. The Helbrute usually teleports to the farthest enemy for a surprise attack. Once you see this, you should immediately do a roll dodge or just sprint away.

Unlike other bosses or minibosses, where you can encounter them multiple times, you’ll only find this Helbrute boss once in the campaign. However, you might see this boss encounter again during Operation missions in the future.
