Can You Get the Overkill Perk in COD Mobile?

Has there been an update?

Originally released in 2019, Call of Duty: Mobile is still a juggernaut and is consistently supported by Activision and TiMi Studio Group. Each new season brings a host of new changes, content, maps, and features to improve the overall experience. There are also several balancing updates to keep things fair by adjusting weapon damage and perk viability. One of the most iconic perks in the Call of Duty franchise is Overkill, but can you get that in COD Mobile? Here is everything you need to know.

Is the Overkill Perk Available in COD Mobile?

The Overkill Perk is not available in COD Mobile, and it likely won’t be added anytime soon.

While the Overkill Perk was available in the test server at one point, it never made it to the main title. The developers confirmed a few years ago on Reddit that while adding the perk has been open to discussion, it would affect the weapon balance substantially.

The developers later confirmed the same year that balancing was still the main thing holding them back from adding the perk to the game despite the overwhelming desire from players.

What Is the Overkill Perk in Call of Duty?

Overkill is a popular perk in the Call of Duty series that allows players to carry a second primary weapon in place of their secondary weapon. This means that you can have two main weapons, like an Assault Rifle and Sniper, equipped at the same time.

Recent Call of Duty releases like Modern Warfare III have opted for an Overkill Vest instead which provides additional bonuses as well.

Its availability in the test server is proof that the developers tried implementing it, but it’s clear that the perk isn’t suited for the mobile version, at least in its current state. It’s still possible that the developers find a way to introduce a balanced version of the perk down the line, but for now, we wouldn’t count on it.
