The Giraffe Toy is one of the first key items necessary to open up the third Dark Aether Rift in the Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Here is how to get and upgrade the Giraffe Toy.

How to Get Giraffe Toy in MW3 Zombies

Players can get the Giraffe Toy in MW3 Zombies by completing the Act 4 Union story mission introduced in Season 3: Reloaded. Make sure the mission is first equipped before entering the game.

The Union mission follows the same setup as the Bad Signal and Countermeasures missions. A new Dark Aether Rift has opened in the middle of the red Tier 3 zone, and the triangular teleporter nearby will teleport you to the Union mission.

The mission is fairly straightforward as you follow Ravenov to save Dr. Jansen. There is one section where you will have to break crystals by matching the symbols on them with ones nearby. The crystal will display three symbols, and the three symbols will be on walls near the crystal with a distinct sound. Shoot the wall symbols in order for the crystal to pass that objective.

The end of the missions caps off with a boss fight with a Disciple named Taoxia, who can summon special zombies alongside the regular horde. Keep moving and take every chance you have to shoot at her until she’s dead. Defeating her will open a Reward Rift with the Giraffe Toy inside.

How to Upgrade Giraffe Toy in MW3 Zombies

Thankfully, the Giraffe Toy already comes fully upgraded in gold rarity. There is no need to further upgrade it.

However, do not place it at the altar of the Dark Aether Rift until you have gathered the other three relics. Those are the Laptop With Stickers, Imaginary Friend Drawing, and the Science Journal. The three relics will need to be upgraded before opening the Dark Aether Rift.
