With the arrival of the Into the Light update for Destiny 2, Bungie revealed that the iconic “Superblack” shader from the original Destiny would be returning. Players have always been drawn to this shader as it gives a jet-black appearance to your armor and weaponry. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get the Superblack shader in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2: Superblack Key Alpha & Superblack Key Omega
To unlock the Superblack Shader in Destiny 2, you must first unlock both the Superblack Key Alpha and Superblack Key Omega which can be obtained from Lord Shaax and Arcite 99-40 in the Hall of Champions.
The Superblack Key Alpha can be earned from Lord Shaax. However, to unlock it, you have to first earn a total of 10,000 Hype. Hype can be earned by completing Onslaught waves, turning in Shaax’s Onslaught bounties, Arcite’s weekly, and completing Brave weapon quests.
The Superblack Key Omega can be earned from Arcite 99-40. This key requires completing all 12 Brave Arsenal Quests. In addition, these quests can be completed at any time as none of them are time-gated.
The Brave Arsenal Weapon Quests are as follows:
- Blast From The Past
- Edgelord
- Stranger Danger
- Spin To Win
- Patience and Forbearance
- Bring Down The Hammer
- Jury Duty
- Howl At The Moon
- Midnight Ride
- Climbing The Mountaintop
- Recluse Endangerment
- Right of Succession
Unlocking The Superblack Shader
Once you’ve acquired both the Superblack Alpha and Superblack Omega keys, head to the Containment Center located in the Hall of Champions. Walk up to the black mass contained within the tub and interact with it. Once completed, you’ll then have acquired the Superblack Shader.
So there you have it, that’s how to unlock the Superblack Shader in Destiny 2. This is just one of the treats that Bungie has given fans leading up to The Final Shape in June.
Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming expansion as Bungie is sure to reveal more.
