How to Find River Jelly, Sea Jelly, and Cave Jelly in Stardew Valley

As you’re fishing, there’s a chance you can find all sorts of things, from legendary fish to random bits of trash. But there’s also a chance you’ll find different Jellies that are exclusive to water sources.

There are three types of possible Jelly you can fish up in Stardew Valley:

  • River Jelly
  • Sea Jelly
  • Cave Jelly

These can be found exactly where their name implies. You will need a fishing pole to gather these.

Cave JellyFound in caves with water. The first level with water is level 20, then level 60, and finally level 100
It can also be found in a Lava Eel Fish Pond if the population is at least eight.

Benefits of River, Sea, and Cave Jelly

River, Sea, and Cave Jelly are all rare items, so the higher your fishing proficiency, the better. However, you can catch Jellies as early as level 1. Each Jelly has its own unique benefits with the effect lasting several minutes.

Unlock the Fish Smoker Recipe

While these benefits are all fine and dandy, the real reason to try to get each of the three Jellies is because they’re an essential ingredient for unlocking the Fish Smoker.

The Fish Smoker can be purchased in Stardew Valley from Willy’s shop at the pier south of town for 10,000 Gold. The Fish Smoker will smoke any fish placed inside with a piece of coal, doubling its worth. The quality of the fish is preserved.
