Valve have announced that we’re to get the DLC for Valve’s critically-acclaimed co-op zombie FPS smasher for free, both on Xbox 360 and PC.
The DLC is known as The Survival Pack, and was confirmed last week. It brings a new mode, Survival, to the game and also allows player to use Versus mode in the Death Toll and Dead Air campaigns.
There’s be a new retail version of the game too, available in shops and named “Left 4 Dead Critic’s Choice Edition”. The new edition will feature the game and all its downloadable content.
Though it may surprise people to hear there isn’t a charge for the extra content, Valve have been known to be this kind in the past with regards to their DLC.
“You buy the product, you get the content,” Team Fortress 2 designer Robin Walker explained to Eurogamer prior to that game’s release.
“We make more money because more people buy it, not because we try and nickel-and-dime the same customers.”
