Are the Helldivers 2 Servers Down? – Here’s What We Know About the Exosuit Update Strain

Mecha-no-cal.

The Helldivers community liberated the planet of Tien Kwan four times faster than the developers had anticipated, per Game Designer Johan Pilestedt on Twitter. This means we get our beloved mech suits faster, but it’s also spelling trouble for the servers.

Not Earning Medals, Requisition Slips, or Samples in Helldivers 2? Here’s Why

According to Pilestedt on Twitter, the game is simply having a hard time keeping up with the amount of players trying to purchase the new Exosuit Stratagem in-game:

The team is aware of the issue, but until it’s fixed players are reporting lost Medals, Requisition Slips, and Samples. This is frustrating to be sure, so be aware if you boot up the game for a quick session your efforts may go (temporarily) unrewarded.

These issues seem to be separate from the server capacity woes the game faced in its first two weeks on the market and are more related to the backend than the total load. If you do want to play, it’s a good time to mess around as the new Exosuit is now available for all players to try for free as a bonus Stratagem when launching missions.

When Will The Helldivers 2 Servers Be Fixed?

A timeline of “eventually” is a little more than vague but if I had to wager, I’d say they’ll be more ironed out by later tonight, if not this weekend. The team is surely bemoaning the need to work late on a Friday due to unforeseen issues, so let’s have a little empathy while we wait for a fix.

The liberation campaign of Tien Kwan saw a jump of 40,000 players last night, so great work out there to all those who helped in the war effort. Thanks to you (and me), we can enjoy our fancy new toys all weekend!
