Attention Helldivers: If You Want Your Mechs, Go Fight For Them

Do Mechs release in a week? That might be up to you.

The Helldivers 2 Twitter account teased the imminent arrival of fan-favorite mech suits from the first game, “rolling out” from planet Tien Kwan. Well, Tien Kwan has been overrun by Automatons, and it’s up to us to liberate it and earn ourselves some firepower.

Tien Kwan is a planet in the Western region of the Galactic Map, found in the Theseus Sector. It’s home to the Automatons, and liberating it should be the communities’ focus if we want some new toys to play with. The order lines up nicely with the incoming Premium Warbond: Cutting Edge, which drops in exactly a week on March 14. I’d wager that if we liberate Tien Kwan, we’ll get the Mechs on the same day as a little bonus.

Liberation orders aren’t guaranteed wins, however. Game Master Joel might have a few tricks up his sleeve to keep us on our toes, so remember: fully complete Operations to help the cause. The ticker toward full liberation might seem slow, but remember that you’re part of a swarm of Helldivers all doing their part.

The EXO-44 Walker Exosuit from the first Helldivers was my absolute favorite strategem. It isn’t a “win” button – it does require quite a bit of cover from your team to survive, but it can shred foes when used correctly. With the recent bemoaning of railgun nerfs, these missile-loaded suits might be just the ticket when it comes to dealing with oppressive Chargers and Bile Titans.

The content cadence of Helldivers 2 is, honestly, pretty shocking to me. When the team said they were getting things back on track after the server hiccups, I didn’t expect quite so much content so quickly. After all, we just got inclement weather events yesterday, as a surprise bonus to a random balance pass. I’m feeling very optimistic about the quantity of content coming to Helldivers 2 in the future, but slightly worried about how that content is going to play out in terms of difficulty.
