Xbox Europe Launching Weekly Music Show

Here's hoping we get the same thing here in the U.S. down the road.

As part of its initiative to introduce original programming to the new Xbox services, it looks like the European division of Microsoft is already getting a head start with The Music Room.

This weekly live program will focus on musical performances every week from up and coming bands, but with an interactive twist that will allow users listen in and spread the word if they like what they hear, while voting for their favorites to see who comes out on top.

The first episode will debut next week on May 29th and will feature Carl Barat, Everything Everything, Don Broco and Swim Deep.

It’d be great to get a similar show here in the United States, mainly because of all the up-and-coming talents that are sure to strike a chord with the Internet and gaming world.  One appearance by Daft Punk – whose new album drops today – would certainly shake things up in itself.

Look for more information on Microsoft’s planned services soon.  Meanwhile check out the first trailer for The Music Room here.
