Jet Set Radio Delayed For PlayStation Vita

The game was originally set to skate onto the handheld today…but isn't.

Jet Set Radio HD skated its way back into our hearts a few weeks ago for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but we were more interested in seeing how the handheld iteration for PlayStation Vita would pan out.  Well, today was the intended release date, but Sega has just announced that the game won’t be coming to the platform just yet.

Jet Set has been delayed due to “necessary development optimizations”, according to Sega.  Though they didn’t get into specifics, they stated that they would be tweaking the game so it would be “providing new ways for gamers to interact with the environments of Tokyo-to, from touch functionality that makes spraying graffiti more natural to Vita camera integration.”

A new release date hasn’t been given yet, but at this rate, we’re guessing early 2013.
