The previously announced Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake just received its first gameplay trailer, revealing some of its updated espionage tactics and confirming the rumored Unreal Engine 5 in the title.
The trailer puts us in the shoes of Naked Snake as he advances in his mission and avoids being spotted, serving as a display of how some old tactics are still present in this updated version, which also seems to be borrowing some elements from the most recent title MGS V: The Phantom Pain.
The beauty of hiding beneath brushes and ambushing enemy soldiers is here once again, just as pleasing as it was almost 20 years ago. But limits are even bigger with the introduction of the modern, more powerful Unreal Engine 5 to the game. The jungle scenarios and animals have a huge emphasis in this trailer to display how different the title will be from its original material.
The first trailer for Delta: Snake Eater was revealed back in May with a brief but impacting shot of Snake surging from the waters. We can now see the man in action, and more info about the game should be unveiled soon as days pass. It is currently unknown if the game will be a simple, straightforward, faithful remake or will add new story elements.
The first three Metal Gear Solid games were recently re-released through the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, although they’re not perfect ports either. But this at least allows you first to experience the original MGS 3 if you haven’t already, for any reason. We don’t have any confirmed date for the remake for now, so it could be worth a shot to entertain you for a while.
