Starfield: How to Solve the Scorpion’s Sting Puzzle

This one might sting a bit.

As you progress through the story of Starfield, you’re likely to come across a lot of puzzles that can leave you stumped. They don’t want you just breezing through the game like it’s nothing, so these sorts of slowdowns are necessary. One specific puzzle comes fairly late in the Starfield story and can easily stop you in your tracks if you don’t understand it immediately. Here’s how to solve the Scorpion’s Sting puzzle in Starfield.

How to Finish the Scorpion Puzzle in Starfield

This Starfield puzzle appears during the Unity mission, where you must “Find the Scorpion’s Sting” using a floor mural in front of you. There’s also a large hologram circle in front of the floor mural, with four different circles adjoining it. This is the key to the puzzle. By interacting with each circle, you’ll move the giant light above you in one direction on the floor. The left circle will move the light left, the top circle will move it away from you (or forward), and so on and so forth.

Your goal is to move the light so that it lands on the scorpion’s tail. The image above features the correct dot to plant the light on. Once you’ve moved the light onto the spot, you’ll be given the next destination for the Unity mission: Obrum Prime. Be sure to explore a bit before you leave, though, since while the planet doesn’t have much for you to collect, it is a nice place regardless.

This may not be the end of the Unity mission, but my god, is it ever a lengthy goose chase. With the fact you already had to visit several areas in the galaxy, combined with this strange puzzle, it’s a lot to take in. It’ll be worth it, though, thanks to the secrets it reveals. Speaking of secrets, check out our guide on how to find the Vulture’s Roost in Starfield.
