How to Wait in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

Sometimes Night City needs some sun

Not every mission in Night City can take place when the sun goes down, so it helps to wait in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 for missions, phone calls, or even just a change of scenery. Luckily, waiting is super easy to pull off and there is no limitation in most cases. All it takes is a few button presses.

How to Wait and Skip Time in Cyberpunk 2077

If you want to wait in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, you can open the game menu and select the “skip time” option at the bottom left of the screen. On top of the standard wait button, you can skip time by going to sleep in your apartment or even sitting down in designated mission areas so that the time of day reflects the objective.

The game menu method is by far the easiest, and I constantly use it to catch up on phone calls. Cyberpunk 2077 is littered with NPCs that rely on calling you for mission updates. Sometimes, you have to wait 12 in-game hours to receive those calls, and I don’t always want to wait around in the rain of Night City.

When you have some extra time, waiting by using your bed is also a good idea. Any time you get a decent rest in your own bed, you’ll get a small boost to your overall XP gains for one hour. However, you need to go out of your way to reach your bed. If you fast-travel or have other apartments, it’s not the worst idea.

The last way to skip time is tied to the missions themselves. Sometimes, characters will ask you to return at night, for example, or else the fun has to wait. When that happens, there is usually a marked seat where you can skip directly to the desired time of day. After time skips, you’ll be greeted by the NPC you’re looking for. Or you could always just mess around and cause chaos around Night City.
