Do You have to Kill Alfira in Baldur’s Gate 3 – Answered

No one kills our Tiefling Disney princess

The Dark Urge is one of the most interesting routes in any video game, offering players an entirely new spin on the original. You’ll get plenty of unique interactions and some added depth to the game, especially in Act 3. But before you even get there, you’ll be faced with a gruesome murder: that of Alfira, the Tiefling bard. But can you prevent Alfira’s death in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Is Alfira’s Death in Baldur’s Gate 3 Unavoidable?  – Answered

For the most part, Act 1 is filled with ample chances to completely avoid doing anything viciously over the top during your Dark Urge run. That is, until you run into Alfira. If you’re not careful, you’ll eviscerate this poor Tiefling bard.

But there’s a way to avoid this.

Tip:

If you take a long rest after visiting the Emerald Grove, Alfira will come directly to you camp. Do not allow this to happen if you’re trying to save her! You must visit her first in the Emerald Grove.

Once you unlock the Emerald Grove, make a beeline to Alfira, who is to the East of the Silvnus statue and Druid Ritual. There, she’ll be attempting to compose a song.

Change your attack in your hotbar to “Non-Lethal Damage”. You can select this option by going to your passives and pressing the button.

Next, attack Alfira. It seems cruel, but you need to knock her out. Once she’s out cold with 1 HP, you’ll need to take a Long Rest.

When you go to your camp, Alfira will be replaced with an entirely new bard. A dragonborn called Quil Grootslang. Quil will be our sacrificial lamb.

Have her stay in camp and allow the usual events to unfold. You’ll awaken to Quil’s body, but at least it isn’t Alfira’s.

And if you’re hoping to get a particularly powerful robe in Act 2, you’re no longer locked from getting it. Nice!
