How to leave camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

Return to the adventure

While taking a well-deserved break from adventuring and putting your feet up by the fire is nice, it can be hard to find out how to venture back into the wilderness and continue your escapades. So let’s go over how to leave camp in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Leave Your Camp in BG3

Once you have finished your camp visit and had thorough chats with your companions, you can leave by selecting the icon to the right of your toolbar at the bottom of the screen. The icon looks like a small fireplace and, counterintuitively, will allow you to select the leave camp option.

Another option for getting away from your freeloading “adventuring partners” is to use the fast travel menu. You can select any waypoint you have unlocked and instantly travel there, freeing you from the camp. You can access the fast travel screen by clicking the compass to the bottom right of the minimap or pressing ‘M’ to bring up your map. You can select the location you wish to travel to and instantly warp away. Alternatively, you can select the leave camp option.

Aside from when fast travelling to a specific location, leaving camp will always place you at the location you were at before heading to the camp. This allows for a quick trip home for a nap, some biscuits and a cosy blanket, even in the depths of an ancient horror lair. Convenient!

Now that you know how to escape from your party, why not find out how to expand it by saving Lae’zel? One of the several companions you can pick up is Lae’zel, a Githyanki with ambitions of becoming a dragon rider. Just don’t bring Shadowheart with you when you go and rescue Lae’zel.
