How to Unlock the Archon Archetype in Remnant 2

There are seven secret Archetypes in the game, hidden behind secret events, hard to get weapons, and tedious dialogue. But no secret Archetype is as coveted as the Archon, inspired by Ford himself. And, with enough dedication, you can get it for yourself. Here’s how.

Here’s everything you’ll need to get the Archon Archetype in Remnant 2. Click an item if you want to jump to how to get it.

Table of Contents

Now, here’s our succinct guide on how to get each item on the list.

How to Get Amber Moonstone in Remnant 2

You can purchase this from Cass in Ward 13.

How to Get Anastasija’s Inspiration Ring in Remnant 2

You can purchase this from Whispers in Ward 13. May require visiting Root Earth first.

How to Get the Black Cat Band in Remnant 2

This very useful ring can be purchased from Reggie in Ward 13. But to get it, you’ll need to die… a lot. Fortunately, Remnant will give you plenty of opportunities to do so, and it’s likely already available for you.

How to Get the Cube Gun in Remnant 2

This might be one of the easiest items to get on the list, as you get the materials for it very early in the game. This weapon is crafted using the Conflux Prism, which you get for beating the Labyrinth Sentinel boss.

Craft it in Ward 13.

How to Get Ford’s Scattergun in Remnant 2

To get Ford’s long gun, you’ll need to either have the Red Throne and the Corruptor Boss quest line in Yaesha. Be sure to always speak respectfully to the Empress and agree to help her kill the Corruptor.

Once the Corruptor is dead, pick up its quest item and give it to the Empress. In exchange, she’ll give you the Seal of the Empress ring. Equip it, then go into the small library. Doing so will cause a section of floor to open, revealing Ford’s Scattergun.

Labyrinth Staff (Screenshot by Prima Games)

How to Get Labyrinth Staff in Remnant 2

To get the Labyrinth Staff, you’ll need to track down and defeat the optional boss, Bastion. Once Bastion is defeated, you’ll find the Labyrinth Staff in the same area, sticking out of stone.

How to Get Leto’s Amulet in Remnant 2

If you’re like me and prefer lightweight, mobile builds, it’s likely you’ve never seen this item available. That’s because to get it, you’ll need to flop with your character 100 times.

What does that mean? It means that if you’re wearing heavy armor, past their weight limit, your character will throw themselves at the ground. This might be the funniest item unlock in the game. Once you’ve done this 100 times, you can buy Leto’s Amulet from Reggie in Ward 13.

Explorer Archetype (Screenshot by Prima Games)

Getting the Explorer Archetype is simultaneously very easy and very hard. You’ll just need to defeat the final boss and complete the campaign. Once you do, the Explorer Archetype will unlock.

Invader Archetype (Screenshot by Prima Games)

How to Get the Invader Archetype in Remnant 2

The Invader Archetype requires some significant legwork. It starts in Losomn, where you’ll have to collect all the Stone Dolls in order to get the Dreamcatcher Weapon. A more in-depth guide for that can be found in the related link.

From there, you’ll need to reach Root Earth, which is part of the main campaign. When you reach the Corrupted Harbor, you’ll find a massive, decaying ship. Get to the bottom, and you’ll find a pod containing Escalation Protocol. Use the Dreamcatcher weapon on this pod, and you’ll get the Walker’s Dream.

Use the Walker’s Dream to be teleported to the Twilight Vale, where you can fight Bane. Defeating Bane will give you the Wooden Shiv. The Wooden Shiv can then be given to Wallace, who will give you the Root Blade and the Invader Archetype

Realmwalker Armor Set (Screenshot by Prima Games)

How to get the Realmwalker Armor Set in Remnant 2

Similar to the Explorer Archetype, the Realmwalker Armor can only be obtained after defeating the game. That’s because the Realmwalker set is the armor set for that class! Purchase it from Whispers in Ward 13 after beating the game.

How to Get the Void Heart Relic in Remnant 2

Now, here’s a hard item to get. It will require a very specific location and a specific way of beating a boss, plus some real patience. Here’s how it breaks down:

  • Go to N’erud
  • Have the Seeker’s Key quest
  • Beat Sha’hala normally
  • Wait 12 hours
  • Visit Alepsis Taura
  • Find the Void Heart Relic

The Void Heart Relic can be obtained in N’erud, but only if your quest line is Seeker’s Key. If it’s not, consider rerolling. From there, you’ll need to kill the Sha’hala boss without using an alternative method. Do not use the Override Pin.

Then, you’ll need to wait 12 real-life hours (yes, I’m serious). Doing so will make the Alepsis Taura area available. But note, once you access this area, the rest of N’erud will be locked off.

Enter Alepsis Taura, and you’ll find the Void Heart in, well, the void.

Zania’s Malice (Screenshot by Prima Games)

How to Get Zania’s Malice in Remnant 2

Once you arrive in Root Earth’s Ashen Wasteland, head in the direction of the trainyard. There will be a ramp, and a crawlspace with a red glow near the grey roots. Go through, and you’ll find the ring’s hiding spot.

The Final Step: The Strange Box

Once you have every item on this list, equip them. From the Black Cat Band all the way down to the Realmwalker armor set. To be safe, equip the Explorer and Invader Archetypes, too. Doing all of this will essentially give you Ford’s setup. Now that you’re fully prepared, it’s time to head back into the Labyrinth, and the Fractured Ingress checkpoint.

Our goal is to get to the red / glitched portal in the Labyrinth. To get there, you must head to the purple portal near the Fractured Ingress checkpoint that constantly shifts location.

Wait for the location to shift to open air with a ledge in the far distance. That image will shift slightly to the right. When it does so, jump through and a bridge will form beneath you before you die. Continue onward and you’ll find the red portal on the right, just past some standard Labyrinth enemies. Interact with it and use the Biome Portal key to open it.

Through the Red Portal: The Backrooms

You’ll step through the Red Portal and into the Backrooms. This area is a maze and you’ll have approximately two minutes to explore before you’re kicked out. Fortunately, you can return over and over to the Backrooms, giving you as many chances as necessary to find the Strange Box, which appears in the far back, to the left from where you spawn.

Once you have the Strange Box, bring it to Wallace in Ward 13 to have it crafted into the Hexahedron. Doing so will finally give you access to the Archon Archetype!

That’s quite a few hoops to jump through! But if you want a break from the grind, why not grab this easter egg weapon?: How to Get the Hero’s Sword in Remnant 2.
