Where to Find Lilith’s Lament in Diablo IV
The boss fight against Lilith’s Lament takes place in Balance’s Sanctum during the “Descent” quest, which is one of the story missions. Once you find the vantage point icon seen in the image above, this signals that the boss fight is drawing near. Make sure you are stocked up on healing potions beforehand because you have got a tough battle ahead.
Due to the differences of the five classes of Diablo IV, each with varying abilities and skills, no two characters will fight Lilith’s Lament in the exact same way. Simply, you will have to use the specific strengths of your character’s build to damage the boss, there is no “one size fits all” approach. However, for all classes and experience levels, here are some universal tips for the Lilith’s Lament boss fight and its various stages, whether playing alone or with friends.

Lilith’s Lament Boss Fight Tips in Diablo 4
In the first stage of the fight, Lilith’s Lament will open bloody portals on the ground, which can stagger you, and the demon will chase your character around the arena. You must stay in motion, avoiding the portals and taking advantage of opportunities to whittle the boss’s health bar down.
Early in the fight a friendly Knight Penitent will appear to aid you in the boss battle. When Lilith’s Lament health bar has been depleted to approximately 75%, the demon will flood the arena will blood, which results in instant death, unless you are near your newfound ally. The Knight Penitent will cast a light barrier, which will protect both of you from the powerful attack. When the Knight Penitent says “Stand behind my barrier!” this is your cue to take shelter in the light shield.
As the boss fight progresses Lilith’s Lament will add additional attacks including rolling waves that can take a toll on health, as well as the aforementioned ground portals. Stay in the rows between the waves to avoid being staggered, and continue to take the opportunity to damage the boss when the opportunity arises.
Lilith’s Lament will also add a sweeping attack with a warning that appears in a red cone. You need to quickly escape from the red area before the attack begins, or your character will incur significant damage. The best way to evade this powerful swipe is to dash behind the boss, just slightly to the right or left side, which will allow you to completely avoid damage, and then follow up with a counterattack of your own.
Be wary, as Lilith’s Lament can string together many attacks at once, meaning that having awareness of your surroundings is of the utmost importance during this boss battle.

Lilith’s Lament will flood the arena at 75% health, 50% health, and 25% health. You need to be cognizant of this, so you can hide in the Knight Penitent’s shield when the time comes.
Although this attack can also potentially happen sooner, when in the final quarter of health, Lilith’s Lament will unleash a furious barrage of purple (shadow?) projectiles at your character, which can be avoided by dashing, or staying in motion ahead of the oncoming missiles. Just make sure you aren’t running directly into one of the portals on the ground or an incoming wave, as you dodge the barrage.
Once you have successfully dodged the various attacks and whittled away the boss’s health bar, Lilith’s Lament will be vanquished. As a reward, a trove of rare, valuable loot will be available and you will be treated to a cutscene revealing the surprising identity of the helpful Knight Penitent.
