How to Complete the Exotic Quest Unfinished Business in Destiny 2

Sometimes grieving means doing really self-destructive things

Upon completing Lightfall, Nimbus will offer you a new quest: Unfinished Business. It’s a long one, with thirteen steps, but it’s worth it for Deterministic Chaos. Here’s how to complete the Quest Unfinished Business in Destiny 2.

How to Complete the Exotic Quest Unfinished Business in Destiny 2

So, we have a long road ahead of us. Let’s get right into it.

Step 1: Go to the Hall of Heroes

Head to the Hall of Heroes. Approach the door, and you’ll see a cutscene. Rohan will be inducted into the Hall of Heroes.

Step 2: Ask Rohan why they left early

Head back to Strider’s Gate to ask Rohan why he left. I mean, we can guess. But ask anyway.

Step 3: Collect Cipher qubits and Extra Resources

Collect cipher qubits from the Vex and use them to extract Rohan’s data from Cloud Accretions in Neomuna.

  • Cipher qubits 0
  • Data extractions available 0x
  • Resources extracted 0/5

Welp! Looks like Nimbus is mourning the only they know how: action. We’ll be completing Rohan’s unfinished business and, to do that, we’ll need to kill a lot of Vex. Fortunately, there’s a Lost Sector full of them. Head to Liming Harbor and then to the Thrilladome.

Vex has a chance of dropping a Cipher qubit each time they’re killed. Each qubit gives you 12 towards Data extractions available. Complete the Lost Sector and you’ll have around 35 qubits and 4.38x data extractions available. Not quite as many as we need, but that’s okay.

Pick up a few more by running the Lost Sector again or finding a few Vex in the wild. When you have x5, equip a Ghost with a Wombo Detector, ideally with a resource range of 50 meters. Head to your favorite combat zone, then start zooming around. You’ll get little diamond icons when there’s a Cloud Accretion nearby.

Step 4: Locate the final data packet in Maya’s Retreat

If you’re still in Liming Harbor, great. If not, get there. Follow the road to the left, towards the mountains on the east side. Make your way through the tunnel and you’ll wind up in Maya’s retreat. There’s only one way forward, so go that way until you reach the giant chasm.

Now, we’re going to need to use our grapple to reach the bridge full of Vex. Do so, then continue straight up the stairs. When you reach the highest you can go, you’re going to have to platform up the rocks.

Kill the Vex in the cave, then head to the back, where the rocks are red tinged, and keep platforming higher. In the middle of the pond will be a Vex artifact. A voice will begin speaking to you.

Do electric sheep Vex dream?

Who knows? Interact with the Vex tower to recover Data Packet.

Step 5: Survive the Vex attack

You’ll need to endure three waves of Vex before you can finally try to extract the data again. And with that, we’ll need to head back to Liming Harbor.

Step 6: Regroup with Nimbus and Osiris

Regroup with Osiris and Nimbus in Radiosonde to find out what was in Rohan’s notes.

Okay! Head back to Liming Harbor, then move South, into the center of the ship.

Unfortunately, once we enter Radiosonde, there won’t be a Lego platform for us to use to jump across the gap this time. We’ll need to use Grapple.

Make your way down the corridor until you hit the glass doors. Shoot your way through them, then fight your way through the Vex. Once they’re cleared out… there will be another glass door. And more Vex. Kill them too.

That’s pretty much the method. Kill Vex, move into the next room. Kill Vex. Eventually, you’ll find Nimbus and Osiris arguing about the Black Garden. Nimbus eventually convinces Osiris of his harebrained and extremely risky scheme, then sends you a grocery list of things you’ll need to obtain. Yay.

Step 7. Retrieve a Vex Compass from the Lost Sector in Liming Harbor

So… yeah. Remember how I told you to do the Thrilladome to farm out Vex? Hope you enjoyed your time there, because we’re doing it again!

You’ll need to defeat the end boss hydra in order to get the Vex Compass from the Lost Sector cache.

Step 8: Create chaos in Ahimsa Park

Create chaos in Ahimsa Park to draw Shadow Legion forces away from Calus’s ship. The more you use your abilities to defeat combatants, the more mayhem you create.

Combatants defeated 0/100.

Well, here’s a bit of a grind. The only good thing is that Ahimsa Park is definitely the most enemy-rich area in Neomuna, and there are frequent events happening. Now is a good time to pick up any gunsmith bounties you might want, as well as bounties from Nimbus.

It’s also important to note that each enemy you kill with an ability counts for four enemies killed! Which is very helpful.

Step 9: Obtain the Silver Wing Seed

The passkey’s other component is a See of Silver Wings. One can be found in Calus’s trove deep within the Typhon Imperator.

Well, it’s a good thing we’re in Ahimsa Park. Head towards Calus’s fortress and into the building, up the ramp. Go past the weird horse statues, turn left, hit the dead end. Turn right, fall into the hole. Then you’ll be in Typhon Imperator.

Now, don’t be tempted by the long jump towards the two Cabal statue. There’s no actual platform there. It is death. I know this because I’ve tried lots of ways to get there, and they all killed me. Instead, you’ll need to follow the same path you used in Downfall. And that means a lot of jump puzzles.

Check out our related link below if you can’t remember them all.

Once you get into the throne room that houses Calus’s golden statue, there will be a golden orb portal. Jump through it, then walk through the dark corridor until you’re back in the arena. The Seed we need is on the bookshelf on the outer upper rim of the arena, but we’ll need to clear out the Cabal first.

Once you take out the Esteemed Cabal, another wave will spawn in. But the barrier around the Seed will drop. Pick it up! Then head across the arena and pick up the other… thing? From the bookshelf on the other side of the arena. This will finish the step.

Step 10: Return to Nimbus

Head back to Strider’s Gate and speak to Nimbus. He’ll hand you the now completed passkey that will get you into the Black Garden. Which still seems like a bad idea, but what do I know?

Step 11: Complete the mission What Remains

Now, we need to head back to Maya’s Retreat in Liming Harbor. Our next mission, What Remains, is there. We don’t even have to go all the way! The flag for the mission is right at the start of the chasm.

Step 12: Return to Nimbus

Well, we went through a lot of trouble to get that Conceptual Mind’s memory core. But we have a gun, so I guess it was worth it. Bring the Memory Core back to Nimbus in Strider’s Gate.

Step 13: Return to the Hall of Heroes

So, we return to where it all began. Nimbus has had a chance to really reflect on what they’ve lost, and we’ve had a chance to get a cool gun.

Approach Rohan’s monument and interact with it. You’ll get a new cutscene, some character growth with Osiris, and a Triumph. And… the quest is done. Congratulations, Guardian!
