How to Complete Centrifuse’s Catalyst Quest in Destiny 2

Season of the Deep has graced us with a new piece of Golden Age tech called the Centrifuse, and it’s clear that this gun has seen better days. But it sure feels good to fire, with a pretty high handling that makes the recoil pattern easy to control and a forgiving measure of what “sprinting is”. But no Exotic weapon is complete without its Catalyst, so let’s dive into how to complete Higher Voltage, Centrifuse’s Catalyst quest.

To get the quest, you’ll need to grab Centrifuse from your Season Pass. Either immediately if you have the Premium track or by getting to level 35. Once you have it, head to Banshee-44 in the Tower, just behind the vaults. He’ll give you Higher Voltage. Once you have that, there are three steps you’ll need to complete.

  • Step 1.
    • Rebuild the Centrifuse’s catalyst by rapidly defeating targets.
      • Targets defeated rapidly 0/20.
      • Targets defeated with Arc final blows 0/40.
  • Step 2.
    • Calibrate data and defeat targets while using Centrifuse. Calibration occurs when you complete Vanguard Operations, Gambit and Crucible matches, or Seasonal Playlist activities.
      • Calibration data generated 0/200.
      • Targets defeated 0.
  • Step 3.
    • Return to Banshee-44.

The first step is exceptionally easy. You don’t even need to use Centrifuse to do it. Just head over to Sorrow’s Harbor and gun down some of the endless mobs that run from altar to altar.

Step two isn’t difficult, but it is tedious. Seasonal activities, for whatever reason, don’t seem to include Deep Dives. But wins in the Crucible (and likely Gambit) will net you 2 points instead of 1. The best thing you can do for yourself is pick an activity you enjoy and take your time with it. Worth noting, you don’t need to have Centrifuse equipped to get those points. That means that so long as you’re playing the game, you’ll complete this step, eventually.
